Wedding Weekend Recap

Whew- what a fun weekend we had celebrating my big brother and his new bride, Lynsey. Bobby and I are two years apart and we have always had that close brother/sister relationship...complete from best friends at a young age, to the other end of the spectrum through high school and circling back around to a great friendship and bond we have now! Seeing him happily married is certainly very special and we are so happy for them! Here's a few snapshots of the wedding weekend.

With my sweet Mom and sister, catching up on Thursday night...

The adorable welcome boxes...

My Mom did a fabulous job putting together the rehearsal dinner at the Evergreen Music Room at the Holly Inn...

Loved the boxwood wreaths to welcome us in..

My Dad and I before the rehearsal...

The Grooms cake was absolutely adorable with an emblem of their beloved black lab!

My little sister did the place cards after taking lessons in calligraphy. I'm making her start her own business, she is a natural!

At the Rehearsal Dinner with my love!

This is my look if you are interested...of course the dress is now on major sale with limited sizing- but I am seriously in love with it!

The bride and their sweet lab, Lou- looking spiffy in his bow tie!

The wedding day is where my pictures slow down- you know the drill, you are so busy all day long and then taking photos with the photographer {thank goodness for professionals!} I can't wait to see them come back, but all I have until then is iphone photos :)

Weeks had just as much fun as we did in the photobooth. He seriously loves sunglasses!

Now onto another week!

Wedding Weekend!

Hello y'all from Pinehurst! My big brother is getting married tomorrow and we can't wait to kick off the celebrations very shortly. Pictured above: Weeks couldn't hang last night- way too cute. Make sure you follow along {@katiehchalk} for wedding fun. We are trying not to let the rainy forecast put a damper on things...as the old saying goes, it's good luck to have rain on your wedding day!

How cute are the coozies?!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

My Best Friend's Wedding- Style Me Pretty Edition

Remember that beautiful wedding I told you about back in December? Rightfully deserved, my sweet friend Seldon and her wonderful husband Mark, were just featured on Style Me Pretty. People always talk about going to beautiful weddings- for one reason or another, a wedding will seem particularly beautiful to them- or maybe a small detail will always hold a memory for them of that night. This was one of those weddings. It definitely spoke to me not only in decor, but from the love felt in the room. By the couple and their families both. Every single moment seemed like it was years in the making- I swear. They are the cutest couple! {By the way, he is from Wales, she is from NC and they met working together on a private yacht. How amazing is that!} Anyway, I am so happy to share this joyous, special occasion. For more details, {and believe me, there are lots more!} please visit their feature here
I love you Seldon!

Asheville Wedding Weekend

One of my dear, dear friends from college got married a few weekends ago in Asheville, NC and it was hands down, one of the most gorgeous weddings I have ever been to. My friend, Seldon, and her fiance, Mark, were originally going to get married in May of 2013 when an unexpected family tragedy occurred. Needless to say, this couple was so incredibly deserving of a special wedding day. None of the frills were necessary because of the love that radiated from them. But the frills were certainly gorgeous! Here's a peek from the wedding day.

One of our bridesmaid gifts- a monogrammed shirt to wear on the wedding day while we got ready.

The flowers were just insane. I mean incredible.

We had an amazing team of hair stylists come style our hair as we wished, and the bride and her family had beautiful, classic makeup done.

That's enough of amateur hour though, if you want to see her amazing photographer, check out AJ Dunlap PhotographyThis is just one photo of their wedding day! Based out of Raleigh, NC and they are an adorable couple that shoots together. Seriously, check them out.

*If anyone is interested, I can certainly ask the bride for more vendor information*

Back to the wedding day...My parents are members of the club that the wedding was at, so they were able to watch baby Weeks with ease at the restaurant while we enjoyed the reception. We rented two cabins for the weekend and almost the whole family came along.

My Dad and I...

My Mom and I, my sister Stephanie and my brother's girlfriend Lynsey.

Weeks playing with Daddy {in the bar!}

Seldon, your wedding was amazing and I hope your marriage is even more beautiful than your wedding day. Love you lady! XO.

And one other picture of our mountain weekend...

This little guy took his first swing ride outside our cabin and LOVED it. I was busy with wedding festivities, so when I got this text I pretty much melted.

 love.

g.l.a.m.

It's one of my best friends wedding weekends. As I was browsing through old photos one of my all time favorite girly songs came to mind, by Fergie. Glamorous. You know you love it! This song doesn't define our friendship but outlines the fun surrounding it. Truth be told, we were a tad ridiculous fun hilarious fabulous glamorous silly in our prime several years ago. Tons of good memories, and more to come.

Wishing you all the best of weekends, filled with silliness, glamour, laughter and love for your mommas.
 Find me on instagram if you want to follow along {missdixie30}

Wedding Hair

one / two / three / four

One of my very best friends is tying the knot this weekend and I am more than honored to stand beside her on the big day. We are wearing gorgeous one shoulder, long black chiffon gowns. I am trying to decide how exactly I should wear this hair of mine. Thoughts? What are your favorite styles for an elegant occasion? I want it to be neat enough but not prom-ish.

Please help a girl! Or send me your pinterest boards to check out if you have hair inspiration! xo.
