Fun In The Sun!

It is clearly summertime over here, hence the lack of posting! Who else is trying to wrap their head around the fact that it is the Fourth of July on Tuesday?! Always been one of my favorite holidays. I rounded up some of my favorite summer essentials for some fun in the sun. Everything is on Prime- so at this point you could still have them delivered Monday for the Fourth!

fun in the sun
Might as well get a new set of beach toys because those little pieces get lost and put in ten different locations! // We use our wagon every day of the week for evening walks. Truly, an essential in my book for kids. They can use it so much longer than any other "toy". // I have always wanted an instax mini...I think it would be fun to take daily photos during the summer and collect them on a board for a collage to look back on! // I recently went to the dermatologist for my yearly check and she recommended this daily moisturizer with SPF. Unlike so many others, it doesn't leave my skin greasy. In fact, I can hardly tell I have it on! EltaMD SPF 46 // Last minute party? Snag this USA banner // Ever since the first time I put sunscreen on Weeks as a baby, he has had a reaction around his eyes to every brand I have tried. I could never figure out if he was getting burned, reacting to the sunscreen or what. I found this sunscreen which is completely safe with no harmful ingredients and it goes on SO easy. No rash around my little man's eyes! Finally!! thinkbaby sunscreen // Both kids love this float and you can use it 4 different ways. 4 in 1 float // My favorite swim diapers are these little swimmers // While getting safe sunscreen for the kids, I bought this for me sunology sunscreen

Not pictured- I would love these mason jar lanterns for our new patio! We are finishing up construction on the new addition in the next few weeks and I can't wait to show you guys!!

Pool Days of Summer

Happy Friday y'all! I am so totally thrown off after getting back from our family vacation on Wednesday. You might follow along on instagram, we were in Williamsburg, Virginia. I had not been since I was a baby so it was all brand new to me. We barely touched on a lot of the historical sites so we will definitely be back in the future!

It's hard to believe we are already halfway through June and I feel like the summer is just beginning! Don't think I am lame here, but my big elaborate plan for the summer is get the kids to the pool and playground several days through the week and then enjoy at least one boat/beach/pool day a weekend. Stephen and I are work horses and always find ourselves engulfed in a new project or work. So, it's our goal to enjoy the summer and most of all, make it special for the kids! During nap times I plan to tackle my little home projects that I am always workin' away on :)

Since I had so many messages about this swimsuit I wanted to link it up here for you. I actually bought it last year when I was nowhere close to wanting to put on a swimsuit post-baby, but I am finally wearing it this year! Find it here via amazon. But really... one pieces...where have you been all my life?! Also, this is the top only (major cheap now) and the bottoms to match. Find Frances Ann's cute suit here and my sunglasses here. Hope that helps y'all!

April Date Night

I know I am way behind on my date night recaps...this one is taking us all the way back to early April, which we doubled up to celebrate our seventh anniversary as well. We were in desperate need of a night off of duty and so we asked my in laws to watch the kids for a night. We were thrilled we could go out for dinner ANd stay the night at my parent's beach house. Such a good decision! It was the perfect little staycation that gave us some much needed relaxation. To start off, it was a beautiful Spring night with a little bit of warmth from the sun and a pretty sunset. I think so far we have always had nice evenings to celebrate our anniversary dinner...which is such a nice reminder of our beautiful wedding day. I can still feel how perfect that whole week felt!

We went back to our favorite restaurant for dinner, City Kitchen, and since I have already recapped their wonderful food here I won't focus on that too much for y'all. Once again, my date had flowers waiting on the table. A girl could get used to that!

The appetizer sampler is everything I love on one plate.

Karen always knows what chardonnay to recommend for us!

Happy Seven Years to us!

The best place to catch a sunset!

It was SO nice to sleep in (sleeping in these days is anything past 6:30 am), drink coffee on the porch and just do nothing. I sat outside for hours that morning just sitting! Literally, doing nothing. We also took the dogs on a walk on the beach, which they loved. It was fun for them to get some one on one time since they are big brothers and sisters full time now.

Find my favorite jean shorts here. I received a new camera for Christmas which is what I used on on a lot of these photos on the beach and at the restaurant. It's not super fancy, it fits in my purse and it takes great photos on the go of people. I have really enjoyed it and look forward to learning more about it over time! This is the newest version of my other camera, which I love!

Before we headed home, we stopped by our favorite little dive- Shark Shack, to bring home lunch for the family. It is a great place to indulge in some fried seafood, my favorite being the grouper wrap or the shrimp burger.

It was a few minutes before 12:00 noon and we got a wild hair and ordered 2 coronas while we waited on our lunch. We typically don't indulge in beverages on Sunday at lunch, but this was a fun treat. I really don't ever drink beer- but that Corona was mighty good!

It was the perfect little staycation and I am scheming our next one already!

Summer Sale Finds

I wanted to share some favorite sale finds I came across on a few of my favorite sites! First up, as you might know, Nordstrom is having their summer sale for just a few more days and of course, there are lots of good finds!

I love this faux leather tote and it is definitely in that wear it for one season price range. I would double it as a diaper bag. Before Weeks was born I used a giant Kate Spade diaper bag, but I have switched over to using bags just like these to go with the season. That way if I don't feel like using my purse because my hands are full, I just throw a few necessities like my wallet and keys into the diaper tote.

I am a total sneaker convert and love this perforated pair! This color is a great neutral and would be really cute with white jeans.

This Kate Spade stripe silk top is so fun for summer!

I couldn't resist these circle earrings (take an extra 30% off making them $11.55!)...that price is too good to pass up!

I love this drapey tank (take an extra 30% off) that you could tuck into a skirt. Good tanks are hard to find and this one lays really well.

My Mom got Frances Ann these adorable pjs (take extra 20% off!) and she is the cutest thing ever scooting around in them! They are so cheap now.

If you are looking to invest in some cookware, this is my favorite line. We use this stock pot all the time in the fall and winter, and it is also great for when I make my favorite turkey meatballs!

Last up- here is an idea for Father's Day! This grill tool set has everything the man needs for firing up the grill. It also comes in a monogram set version if you prefer that way.

Happy Shopping and Happy Friday!
