A Birthday + A Christening

We celebrated both of my babies two weekends ago and I wanted to do a mini recap on those! I know I don't share a ton of personal updates but this was a special weekend for everyone. Maybe I will get better about sharing more weekend recaps etc - but let me tell you, its a lot of work for doing that. Major props to those bloggers that keep up with it all! 

First up, my sweet Weeks' Fourth Birthday. He wanted a jeep and golf themed cake :) Our baker did a perfect job executing it! I also set up a black chalkboard runner on the table that I wrote little messages on. The food went on the table- I know it looks sparse in the pic and I didn't get one when lunch was served. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, hashbrown casserole, and at the last minute I got some frozen Nathan's Onion Rings {which were SO good! Such a good side thats easy and who doesn't like onion rings?}

Weeks was so excited when it was time to sing Happy Birthday to him with his cake presented! It was so sweet.

Weeks got a fun new swingset for his birthday from both sets of Grandparents. I know the kids are going to have a blast this summer on it! This was right after going down the slide the first time!

The next day we were up early for Frances Ann's Christening! Thankfully both kids did great on the front row of the church and Weeks nodded off during the sermon, ha! I was worried how Frances Ann would react during the actual baptism but she did great. 

You can find my dress and shoes here. This dress line is one of my favorites. A designer style but priced fairly, and such a classic look! This would be perfect for Easter in a few weeks. The shoes are not only so pretty, but so comfy- I wore them all morning up until after lunch with no problems. The heel is the perfect height. I fell in love with them last fall and they are on sale now!

We had brunch at my parent's beach house afterwards and my Mom set up fresh potted flowers, pictures of my sweet girl, and of course, another cake! It was perfectly simple and sweet for the occasion. Our menu was fabulous too: roast beef tenderloin sliders, ham biscuits, broccoli salad, fruit salad and twice baked potato casserole. 

We even got a decent family photo, minus FA being her curious self! I will take it though...love them to pieces!

Fourth of July Recap + Birthday Wishes

We ended up spending the entire week + some at the beach house last week. We knew we would be over there a lot with most of my family in town and we just ended up staying all week! It's hard to turn down a week on the water with lots of additional babysitters, right? It's much more than that though. I appreciate the family breakfasts, lounging on the porch in your pj's, happy hour, sandy flip flops and beach towels, quilts to curl up in for the evenings, the collaboration to cook dinner, the sea breeze especially at sunset, and the love of everyone with you. Here's a few snapshots of our Fourth...

And, last but not least, a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dear sweet hubs. You are my rock, my best friend, a wonderful father to my baby boy, and I'm so lucky to call you mine. I can't wait to enjoy the {several} days of birthday celebrations to come. All my love honey! xoxo.

It's my birthday y'all! It's been a fun last few days kicking off the birthday celebrations with friends and family, and we are continuing them on tonight. I'm a lucky girl. My sweet husband has made me feel very special over the last few days. Always a good thing :) I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Happy Birthday Hubby + Guest Post

Happy Birthday to my sweet, handsome and precious husband!! To a man that patiently loves me, and loves our sweet doggies to the moon and back...you deserve the best day today! I can't wait to celebrate today, and many more birthdays and wonderful moments with you. I love you!

West Bound

We are in Raleigh already and headed west to Asheville, NC for the next several days. I am hoping to escape extreme heat (fingers crossed), shop lots, and enjoy great times with my fam. On top of that, we are celebrating my Grandma's 90th birthday!! We are all so excited to celebrate such a remarkable birthday. Visiting the mountains in the middle of summer is the perfect escape too!

Birthday Wishes for Two!

If you have been reading for a while now, you might realize that all of my family has birthdays in the fall and winter and I love sending a special birthday message. This one is no different, and this is actually to TWO people: my sister Sara, and her hubby Manu. 

Today is Sara's birthday and tomorrow is Manu's. If that isn't wild enough, would you believe me if I told you he is from Spain and they met each other in Thailand while vacationing? Wait, hold on a second...they actually saw each other in China first, then met again in Thailand...and have been together since. True story. 

This was their wedding this past summer in Spain, which was a blast for all of us. They did the whole long distance thing at first {like, really long distance!} but that didn't last long. Manu has lived in the US for several years, has graduated from grad school and now, they are happily married and living in Charlotte, NC.

Food, Drinks and Dogs: My Week in pictures

I'm sure like most of you/all of you, I have been crazy busy over the past week. In between the prepping for the holidays and other craziness, I took a bunch of photos {via iphone, it's always so handy} and here we have it. Bear with me, this is the old iphone-I get the new one as an early Christmas present tomorrow:)

Hubs started my birthday in a delicious fashion- bacon, egg and cheese on an English muffin. 

It was my birthday, and I indulged.

My older sister and her hubby gave me a beautiful gift set from L'Occitane and the box was amazing. I am currently finding a place for that pretty Hermes Orange color I love.

Night #2 of celebrating with friends at Amos Mosquitoes, their signature dessert is s'mores at the table with your personal campfire. So amazing. A little birthday treat from them.

And, my latest appetizer craze. I saw these on A.Liz Adventures a few days ago and I had to make them. Her blog is one of my favorites to read. If you haven't checked it out yet, head on over now. These are "Parmesan crisps" and are amazing. Stephen was in shock when I whipped these out in a matter of minutes. 

They are little piles of Parmesan cheese heated in your pan.

Happy Birthday to my sweet little sister! 

This was us this past summer touring Europe for my oldest sister's wedding in Spain- Cheers!

We are definitely the sisters that have the matching handbags, the same style Lilly Pulitzer top, wear scarves on the same day, enjoy the taste of wine and Dirty Shirleys, have an affinity of love for our family, dogs and clothes, and so much more! I surprised her with a visit to Raleigh last night for her birthday dinner with the fam. Hope it's great tonight!! xoxo

Pop the Champagne Darling!

My birthday is tomorrow and I cannot believe the month of November has flown by (oh, and the fact that I am a year older!) It has been unseasonably warm here for weeks, and it figures today it would cool off and rain! I really hope we have another beautiful sunny day tomorrow, I just don't do well in the rain! So...the weather got me thinking, how fabulous would a little party full of pink, peonies and champagne be for a break right here in the middle of the holiday season!?

Birthday Wish List

Wow, I cannot believe it is already the second week of November! Since it is my birthday month, I wanted to share my lust list at the moment. This year for my birthday, I am asking for only "practical" things- like shoes, clothes, accessories for the home, and money towards a new sofa. Very practical, right? Things I will use EVERY day! No more jewelry for me this year! Here's the list.
