Recent Pics - Halloween + Football

It's been a while since I shared some pictures so I thought we were due for a little catchup. Weeks and Frances Ann were THE cutest little cowboy and cowgirl for Halloween last week. My MIL pulled out one of Stephen's old costumes a few months ago (the chaps and vest) and I knew right then and there the decision was made for costumes this year! In true Katie fashion, I waited until the last minute (week before) to try and find a cute costume for Frances Ann that would be equally as cute as the sherpa was for Weeks (this was a high quality costume y'all- nothing like what you see today!) After many searches on Amazon and not wanting to spend $100 on a plastic-y costume that would arrive on time, I resigned to make hers on my own! This picture was the idea behind it, and I followed this tutorial to make her little skirt. I used extra fabric from the skirt for their bandanas just by cutting them in 18" squares, I made some for the pups too! It really was so darn adorable and I'm so glad I made it for her. Weeks' costume was so authentic and he was so darling in it!

This weekend we went to Raleigh for the NC State/Clemson game. This time we just brought FA and Weeks got to stay home with Grandma and Granddaddy for some spoiling! The weather really was not ideal with chilly wind and light drizzle from time to time. FA was a good sport, but since Weeks has been sick I'm so glad he didn't have to be out in that weather!

Stephen made a boston butt that we slow cooked on Friday night so it was ready for pre-game nachos on Saturday afternoon. If you haven't tried pork nachos, do yourself a favor and try them! We use Santitas chips and layer them queso (key ingredient!), jalapenos, sour cream, salsa, guacamole and the pulled pork. You can also add your favorite beans, chopped tomatoes and lettuce. So good guys.

Someone had THE best time cheering at the game. I won't mention any names.

On Friday on our way into town I convinced Stephen to swing by the mall so I could run in Loft to try on a few tops. I ended up getting the one above which I love, it is so classic and will be a true staple in my wardrobe. It was 40% off and I'm now considering a few other colors. Just so easy for layering having that sense of polish. I couldn't help but snap this photo of this velvet turtleneck I tried on too! I was instantly transferred to Limited Too in 1995...but the crazy thing is I didn't hate it! Laughing to myself over here. I think it would actually be pretty for a holiday party. I think it runs a little big, so size down. PS-What are your thoughts on velvet tops?! You can see my fave shoes here too! This pair is lined with sherpa and they are super comfortable, yet completely adorable. I haven't stopped wearing them since I got them.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Halloween Puppy Love

Halloween with a baby is so much more fun than anything I could do on my own. Seeing that sweet little face smile (and also show disinterest) is pretty much the cutest thing ever. All in all, he was a good sport. Of course, we were trying to get him ready to walk down the street to go "trick or treating" as it was his dinner time, so he wasn't too thrilled about that. Otherwise, he was a perfect puppy!

Happy Halloween, my sweet boy...

Here is where he was less than amused... So not cool Mom and Dad!

And after dinner, getting ready to walk to our neighbors houses.

We tried his costume on a few days ahead of time and got this face.

And this was the face, the biggest smile of the night, after his costume finally came off!

Hope you guys had a great Halloween and first weekend of November!

Halloween

Happy Halloween Y'all!

The highlight of my night will be dressing my little guy up in his precious little costume. I cannot wait to see him in it! As far as our other plans for tonight, we've decided to cook beef briscuit tacos from a new cookbook I am trying out. Everything looks sooo good in it, I am looking forward to sharing! Of course, we will be passing out lots of candy to all of the trick or treaters. Hope everyone has a safe and fun time tonight! Trick or treat!

baby jammies

Linking up today to a PJ party...what a fabulous idea ladies!
These are my favorite little set of jammies Weeks has had so far!
I love these little monsters, made by Carters!

Love his expression in this one!

And I know these aren't PJs but I had to share this photo of him with his golden retriever buddies....

Head over to The Good Life and The Tichenor Family to link up your minis!

Pumpkins and Fur

Here are my precious "fur babies" all dressed up for Halloween last night. I tried to resist the urge to put them in costume, but I saw these Saturday and grabbed them. They were 75% off- how could I not!? Plus, I have never seen such a large dog costume for our sweet boy. Dixie is loving the fur on hers!

They were very cooperative dressed up, but only because I bought them some Halloween treats that I made them wait for!

Yesterday morning on pinterest, I also saw Boo dressed up as a pumpkin, ha!
Tucker's costume was a XXL though!

We also celebrated two friend's recent engagement, as in they got engaged right before they came over for dinner! He wanted it to be a total surprise and she was definitely that! We had a great time all celebrating together and passing out candy to the masses of trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood.
It's day two of Christmas decorating and I am beyond exhausted. Night night!

Trick or Treat

Hope you all had a great weekend and indulged in some fall treats and candy. I myself did not dress up at all this year (unless you count a glitter manicure) but I did grab some outfits for the dogs this weekend. I can't wait to dress them up tonight and share some photos tomorrow! The crock pot is on with dinner cooking already, I am decorating for CHRISTMAS at the store, expecting trick or treaters probably as soon as I walk in the door, having friends over at 6 pm and I still have several errands to run! It's going to be a busy one...Happy Halloween!
