Nursery Sources Questions

I haven't gotten a chance to tell you all thank you, thank you, thank you for the sweet comments on our nursery last week! I fully intend to do a complete source post after it is complete, but I wanted to answer questions thus far. If you have any, please feel free to email me! 

Gold pig bookends are from CB2. As I mentioned, I'm not sure if these are staying. We actually got a really cute pair this weekend at the shower that might replace these. If so, I already have the perfect spot lined up for the pigs!

I didn't buy these online, but here is where you can find these:

Crib / Bedding 

Wall and ceiling color is Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore.

Also...lately, I have been buying a ton of things online. The bookends were one thing I purchased online and I made sure to use my ebates cash back. I rarely shop online with out a free shipping/discount/ebates cash back promotion. If I'm lucky, I get all three! That is how I justify my purchases! If you haven't joined, you can here. The little amounts here and there add up and it's nice to get a little paycheck in the mail each quarter. It's free money coming back atcha for shopping online. Why not?!

Dining Room Upgrades

My little old dining room has made some big milestones as well lately. The chandelier was a birthday present and the china cabinet was for Christmas. The china cabinet came from a consignment shop and the owner was willing to paint it however I wished- so glossy white it was. I definitely wanted an antique with character to mix in here, and I love it!

It's got plenty of storage and I can actually see my china and crystal. That's an incredible feeling after it was stuffed in something way to small and dark for the last three years.

For anyone that is wondering, the white and gold china is Royal Crown Derby in Carlton Gold, the crystal is Waterford Lismore, and the dessert plates are Mottahedeh Tobacco Leaf.

Storage underneath for linens...

 I think the chandelier keeps things modern, which I like. It is beautiful and I love turning it on at night- this room was usually dark before.

Fresh flowers never hurt, right?

The dining room transformed into a space I can appreciate so much more now. In true blogger fashion, I have already decided some other things I would like to do to finish off the room. It really does help to take photos of your rooms to see how things look. I usually eliminate more clutter this way and decide what I need. 

A few more possibilities:

-Larger artwork/larger frames?

-Switch out hardware on buffett

-Fine tune accessories

Wednesday Randoms

It's been a little while since I've updated you on the very most random of things lately, so here it goes.

Mozzarella Grilled Cheese

 I haven't done much exciting cooking lately because we have been focused on projects around the house after work. I finally tried something new and made this grilled cheese, served with a side of marinara. Major yum if you are looking to change things up for an easy dinner. It did seem like a lot of cheese to me, I'd do less next time.

Stephen loved it! 

My new Ipad

Speaking of cooking, I have really enjoyed my brand new iPad to pull up recipes in the kitchen. Stephen bought it for me, for no reason at all. Kidding, he actually won it at work! Since he already had one, it was defaulted over to me. Thank you honey for your generosity in giving me the new one ;) Yes, I did feel quite lucky. To tell you the truth, I didn't see the need for an iPad before now, but I am really enjoying it so far. Did you notice the sparkling water also?

My mom mobile is ready to go! 

Nope, no minivan here...but I do have the car seat in place. We figured we might as well put it in the car instead of letting it sit in the garage. By the way, what side do Mom's prefer their car seats on? We have bucket seats, so there is no middle seat. PS- car seats are HEAVY. I will so be gaining some muscle from toting baby boy around in this thing.

Bump Update: 30 Weeks!

How far along? 30 Weeks!! Can I just say that this is the real countdown now?!

Total weight gain/loss: Same as last week, no change.

Maternity clothes? Living in leggings and my Citizens maternity jeans these days. I hope I get to switch it up and wear a few maxi skirts and dresses before he is born! I cannot wait to wear some brighter clothes.

Stretch marks? Not any yet.

Sleep: Not too bad for the most part. 

Best moment this week: Stephen worked so hard on our little guy's nursery. I love seeing how much he cares about him already. 

Miss Anything? Not much to speak of.

Food cravings: Fruit and ice cream. Also have loved sparkling water this week when I get home from work. I've been missing out! Where was I?

Symptoms: It's increasingly apparent that this belly gets in the way bending over, painting my toes, etc. Wouldn't change it though!

Have you started to show yet: Yep, sometimes it's hard to believe when I look in the mirror! 

Gender: Baby boy!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy girl. 

Looking forward to: My first baby shower! I have one here and one in my hometown, with two different groups of wonderful women. I can't wait to celebrate this baby boy!

Nursery To Date

I've been talking about it for months. I finally have a few pictures to share! Major, major things happened over the last week in the nursery and I am breathing a huge sigh of relief. The clutter and disorganization of things miscellaneously floating through the room was really getting to me. {Must be a side effect of pregnancy because I cannot tolerate clutter!}

Before I show you, let me tell you what I had in mind. I wasn't gung-ho on a baby blue everything nursery {and Stephen insisted it not be Carolina blue} so I immediately knew that grey would be a main color. I love the tranquil feeling, yet also clean look of a grey room. I did want it to be sweet enough for a baby, but also give him room to grow into. I think we have accomplished that so far and I think what we have planned to finish it will complete the look.

Lets go ahead and start!

I knew I wanted these Ikea Ribba shelves to display his books. Currently working on his book collection but we do have a start :) My brother gave us Sophie for part of our Christmas present. I love me some Sophie!

This is the crib and dresser corner of the room. We got his bedding for Christmas. I love the grey!!

Grey, aqua blue and white are his main colors but we have plenty of pops to keep the room lively.

He's already got quite a few friends in his crib! Of course, they are only there temporarily until he's sleeping in the crib himself!

Stephen and I bought this cute little guy the day we bought his mattress. I love his sweet lil' face. He also plays four different songs when you pull on him!

His dresser is starting to fill up! This will also double as the changing table. It has plenty of storage for clothes and neccessities. I didn't go the plain changing table route because I wanted something that would grow with him and not take up more space!

Another big change in the room: He got new carpet! This boy is getting the royal treatment already, I swear. When we built the house we went with a plain builder grade carpet and we want it all replaced just three years later. Little man got first dibs and we love this Mohawk carpet! What have I been missing out on...man!

I bought these bookends for his nursery, but since we have the shelves I'm not sure if they will stay or not. Once we have the changing pad in place we will see how much room we have for accessories like these.



The ceiling got painted and we also upgraded with some crown moulding. Once the walls, ceiling and trim got painted it really felt like a nursery! Stephen worked hard every night last week to get it done.

One last fun thing so far, I made these closet dividers for his sweet baby clothes! {Closet still has to be painted!} I will show you this simple project later on this week.



I hope you enjoyed the nursery so far. I am loving how it has transformed into a space we already love... and in just a few months we will have our sweet little man in here with us! More to come...

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday y'all! This week has seemed longer than most. I guess it's because it was my first full week at work in what seems like months. Speaking of which, it seems like Christmas was about 2 months ago. It's crazy! We have been non-stop working on the nursery the entire week and my head feels like there are about 20 million things passing through at every second. This is a little random, but here are some of my favorites lately I wanted to share.

I have been wanting fruit again {yay for a healthy craving!} and have been eating grapes every time I go to the fridge. I also saw these Banana Bites on Eat Yourself Skinny and I think I must make them. How delicious do they look!?

Banana Bites

 I had several questions about my riding boots that I seem to wear in a lot of my photos. The photos don't lie, I wear these almost every single day lately. It just so happens that they work perfectly with leggings and skinny pants, which is what I wear most every day. My Mom bought me these back in the Fall and I promise they are worth every penny Mom!

Frye Melissa Button Boot

It's hard to find some basic staples for your wardrobe that you don't mind wearing constantly over and over again when you are pregnant. However, when I find something I like, it's nice to have the old reliable in your closet for days you can't pull anything together. I got this sweatshirt right after Christmas and wear it at least once, maybe even twice a week! It's flattering, major plus. I have it in black but it also comes in purple.

Liz Lange Sweatshirt

I can't get this table off my mind. We need a side table for the nursery and I keep coming back to it. The only problem is I'm not sure if the coral is the right color. He does have a little bit of red making an appearance in his quilt, but will this work? A pop of color never hurt, right? Either way, this is too much fun and I love it. Has anyone seen it in stores? The entire collection is worth checking out at Target now.

Coral Accent Table

It's going to be in the upper 60's this weekend and I cannot wait! I am definitely one of those people who love a mid-winter break for a weekend that resembles Spring. We are knocking out more projects and more to-do lists that keep on accumulating, and I hope to have some things to show you next week!

A Camera / Christmas / New Years

Better late than never right? Here's a peek at our Christmas and New Years. Stephen got me a new camera and let's just say I played with that thing for two days straight! I still have a ton of learning to do but I am loving what I have picked up on so far. I haven't had time to do much editing either, but I figured you would want to see these in January rather than February.

Prepare for dog picture overload. I ended up using all of the dogs as my muse for the photos- they were fairly cooperative and I loved getting their pictures!

Christmas Day we spent some time on the farm.

The next weekend we had a trip planned to Asheville, NC for my last long trip before the baby comes. My doctor doesn't recommend long travel after 30 weeks, I know each doctor varies on their beliefs for that issue. 

The cutest gingerbread house greeted us upon our arrival. We stay at a club that my Grandparents became members of long, long ago. Now my parents are members and we love visiting with so many memories already in place.

New Years Eve I wore my first preggo dress! 

I bought this back in November thinking I would need it a lot sooner for parties in November and early December. Stephen clearly loves his hat I made him wear ;)

Dress / Earrings 

If you follow me on instagram, you saw that we took my Grandma to her retirement home party after our nice NYE dinner. This was totally unexpected but totally worth it. Yes, we spent part of our New Years Eve at a retirement community! My brother made sure to tag us on facebook that we were there too, I'm sure a lot of people laughed when they saw that one. It actually ended up being pretty cute to see. My Grandma was on top of the world that we took her! 

You can see the older folks exiting the party at 10 after the "ball dropped"....too much.
