Ikea Hunting

Big news, y'all, big news. I get to visit Ikea this weekend! We are stopping in Charlotte for one night only and the plan is to do a little shopping with my sister {mostly with the babes in mind}. Focus, Katie. I have only been once and I was like a kid in a candy store. Stephen was literally scared. So, tell me your favorite finds, navigation tips {?!?} and anything else I must know. One thing I would like to purchase is white frames but I want to know exactly which style to buy.

Thank you in advance for your help on my shopping adventure!
xoxo.

Bump Update: 16 Weeks

How far along? 16 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Still holding around 3 pounds. Doctor said my weight gain was perfect so far, which was a relief because I was a little worried I had not gained enough. Never thought I would say that.
Maternity clothes? Still wearing everything I usually have. I'm trying to plan ahead and see what basics I would like to incorporate for winter so I might purchase some things soon.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: Mostly good, I was super busy this week. I even snoozed a little in the car on Sunday, something I never do!
Best moment this week: By far, getting to hear our sweet baby's hearbeat again at the doctor. Stephen recorded it and I cannot tell you how many times I have replayed that sweet sound.
Have you told family and friends: Yep!
Miss Anything? Not too much.
Movement: So I've felt a few things that I'm not sure I can call movement just yet. Apparently once you know for sure you can look back and decide if what you felt was actually the baby. While the nurse tried to hear the baby's heartbeat, it would not hold still! She said it was a very active baby.
Food cravings: Nothing crazy. Loving my daily serving of grapes...I think we have bought a bundle each week since I found out I was pregnant.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still no avocados.
Have you started to show yet: I believe so, although most of the clothes I wear don't show it.
Gender prediction: Just two more weeks!!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Thinking a little about how we are going to do a gender reveal once we find out. We will see what we come up with!

xoxo.

Weekend Recap

Welcome back Monday, welcome back. The weekend flew by but I have a few fun little updates from the past week to share.

My Farmers Market Mum: I have never ever had luck with Mums but this one has been a star. I will only buy them from the Farmers Market now, in mid-September just as this one was purchased.

Beadboard!! Yay! These are a few in progress shots, it still has to be painted.

Dixie and her cousin Teddy. Did I ever mention between my siblings, parents and I we have a grand total of five dogs when we all get together? Two golden retrievers, a black lab, a puggle and a bichon.
Call us dog lovers. Stephen and I make for 2/5.

Game day clothing: wearing my new Sail to Sable tunic. Love it! Most of the clothes I wear don't let on a baby bump, this being one of them. Trust me, it's there.

I also wore these, a little present from my hubby.
John Wind elephant earrings, they are stellar, love them.

Game pics from the NCSU vs. Florida State game, you may have heard how the Wolfpack stunned the Seminoles! Go Pack!

A little baby bump loving!

Last night I made the ultimate comfort food, my favorite Tomato Tortellini Soup and Truffled Grilled Cheese. I posted the soup recipe way long ago when I first started this blog, you know, before I had any readers. It is a fall must have in my recipe book. The grilled cheese was made using Natalie's recipe: use a little mayo instead of butter on the bread and cook in white truffle oil. It was delicious, the perfect Sunday night meal.

Hope you all had a fabulous fall weekend! xoxo.

Bootie Rockin'

Bootie Style

Are you on the bootie train? I so am. The very innocent bootie train, no pun intended. I found all of these via piperlime: one of my very favorite sources for shoes. The pictures are clear and large, and they offer a variety of price points. I had to include a pair of men's Clarks: I think they are the perfect "Saturday Shoe". What do you think hubby?

These are my latest...

Have you ever tried to take a picture of the back of your shoes? That was fun ;)

I would love to own a few more booties, preferably at a fabulous price point. Where are your go-to's? Have a great Thursday y'all...almost, just almost the weekend!
xo.

Recipes Lately

Since my appetite is back, I have been able to spend a little more time in the kitchen. My baby belly and my husband both appreciate this very much. Here's a few things I have tried lately...it's been fun to cook in season: pumpkin flavored treats and crock pot meals all scream fall to me.

These were a perfect semi-sweet treat: the pumpkin flavor keeps it from being overly sweet and the cream cheese was of course my favorite part. Next time I would probably add a little more even! I contemplated adding chocolate chips but ending up sticking with the recipe. If you are a pumpkin lover, try these!

The next thing I tried was Crockpot Honey Sesame Chicken. Oh my, it was delicious! Stephen in fact, loved it and requested it to be served again soon. My favorite part was how simple it was to put together. I started it in the crock pot at lunch and it was done after work. Instead of pulling together a meal at dinner time, it was already done. I have deeply underestimated the wonders of a crock pot!

I served ours with brown whole grain rice for a bit more of the healthy factor. This dish was amazing!

Want to know what's on the menu for tonight? I am prepping this bright and early for another meal to be done when we get home from work. It looks delicious, I cannot wait!

Have you tried anything new lately that suits the fall season? Do tell!
xoxo.

Bump Update: 15 Weeks

How far along? 15 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Guessing around 2 - 3 pounds?
Maternity clothes? Wearing the heck out of my jeans while I still can. I sure will miss those later on!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: I've had a few nights where I wake up then can't get comfortable and my back will hurt. It's crazy that pregnant women are supposed to only sleep on their sides. You would think it would be get whatever sleep you can!
Best moment this week: Felt great to get a pretty red manicure with Mom! I'm learning that little things I used to not take time for are so nice now. Manicures, lazy Saturdays, taking the dogs on walks...
Have you told family and friends: Yep!
Miss Anything? Not too much this week.
Movement: No...hoping for that soon!
Food cravings: Nothing new this week, eating like a champ though.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Turned down avocados again this week. In fact, most veggies really don't sound all that appetizing. It's tough! This morning at the gym the sweaty, smelly guy next to me almost made me sick.
Have you started to show yet: You can see it a little bit in this shirt! I'll be honest I get self conscious when people keep making comments that I'm still small and wheres the bump!?
Gender prediction: Guessing baby boy :) Only three more weeks until we know.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Dinner with friends on Thursday! We are getting that pretty beadboard installed Friday, I can't wait.

Other moments from this week:

{Before going out to dinner with my parents & getting to wear a new fall blouse found here}

{Enjoying a really refreshing mocktail at dinner ::
cranberry, orange, pineapple, pomegranate & a splash of grenadine}

xoxo.
