We are trying something new this week and attempting a meal plan for the week. I know everyone says it's so much better on your budget to map out your meals for the week instead of going to the grocery store every day. I am still trying to wrap my head around exactly where you save by buying it ahead of time. I am guessing you aren't picking up those pesky things that somehow get added to your cart, which really can take a toll on your final bill. Here is what I came up with for this week!
Monday:
Chicken Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches from my new Skinnytaste Cookbook. I will report back on how they turn out. So far, I have not been disappointed by anything from Gina! For a similar recipe, see here.
Tuesday:
We usually eat with my in-laws, and if not then we grab take out.
Wednesday:
Flat Out Pizzas. Such an easy weeknight meal that leaves you satisfied while keeping it healthy.
Thursday:
BLT Chopped Salad. Found this while searching through my recipe archives. Can't wait to make it again!
Friday:
To be decided! :) Depending on the weather, we like to cook on the grill on the weekends, so we will see what that is like later on in the week.
I am also adding to the grocery list the ingredients for these Make Ahead Lunch Wraps. I haven't done a batch in a long time and they are so nice to have for a quick, healthy lunch option. Something I need more of in my life!
What are you planning this week?

We started grocery budgeting about 2 years ago, and nearly every week since then I've had a meal plan for us. I think it saves us money because I try to find recipes that call for some of the same ingredients(like 2 recipes that call for scallions) so there are no wasted leftovers. There's only 2 of us, but we spend $80 each week. It's definitely a challenge, but fun at the same time. We're trying those smoothies for the firs time this week, too. Can't wait!
Love this, we just starting this week as well! Hope it works out for us!!
These look great!! I go in meal planning spurts. The only problem we run across is that what may sound good on Sunday (or whenever I plan) doesn't necessarily sound good on the day we're supposed to have it. Good luck!!
These meals look incredible. I can't wait to try some of these recipies. Meal planning helps to save so much time. I can't believe I just got into it now.

We need SO badly to start meal planning...our issue is that most nights we don't have a plan so then by the time Bryce gets home from work it's already late and we then have to come up with a plan, go to the store, and then cook it! We far too often, then, opt to eat out which isn't good for the waistline or wallet!
Some weeks it is harder to meal plan for us depending on what is going on, but I do feel like the weeks we do plan I eat healthier and save money. Also I have heard so many great things about that cookbook I think I need it :)
