Baby's First Beach Day / Weekend Pictures

Here's a shot of my cool baby ready for summer time, enjoying lunch outside. He actually sported his little shades with pride- too much for me to handle!

A big smile for Mommy and Daddy. Melts me. How cute are his jammies? My Mom brought them this weekend and I think they are my favorite to date.

I took Dixie on our first solo walk since Weeks was born. Sweet girl has been a trooper, she loved getting some one on one time on the beach!

A family photo before our wedding on Saturday night. It's so hard to leave your baby at home! I know he was in great hands with his Mimi and Pop Pop though.

It wasn't quite warm enough for a real beach day, but Weeks did get to put his toes in the sand for the first time. I cannot wait for beach days with this little one!

Wishing you a great day- Thank you for all of your sweet comments on our newborn photos!!

Newborn Photos

An extra sweet post to start off the week...we finally got our newborn pictures back! I am so happy with them and look at them as if I am seeing them for the first time every time. These were taken at two weeks. It's incredible how much my baby has grown!

I hope you all enjoyed, and had a great weekend!

one month faves

one month faves

Fisher-Price Cradle 'N Swing Once your baby is used to the swing, it is awesome. Very calming and keeps them entertained while they can look around the room.
Puj Tub: The Soft, Foldable Baby Bath Tub I can't imagine using a different tub for a newborn. Weeks loved bath time from the get go in his tub. It sits right in your bathroom sink and is soft for a brand new baby. We have a hook in the shower that we hang it from once we are done.
Circo Newborn Boys' 3 Pack Wash Cloth and Shark Scrubbie Set Also for bathtime, we always use the scrubbie fish. Perfect for helping with newborn skin that tends to peel. The washcloths are a great weight too, love them!
HALO SleepSack Micro-Fleece Swaddle We struggled at first what to put Weeks in to sleep. I had planned on swaddling but no matter how tight the swaddle was, he somehow wiggled himself out. My sister sent us her Halo SleepSack and it was such a relief. He stays put on his back and his arms can be free, which is what our little man prefers! Once he grows out of the newborn size, we are definitely sticking with Halo for the next size up.
Little Giraffe Luxe Dot Blanket The softest blankets on Earth! The best for keeping a new baby warm and soft. He will be using his for a long time!
Munchkin Warm Glow Wipe Warmer A little luxury for the changing table. I really do think he appreciates a warm wipe!
Chicco Keyfit 30 We have the entire travel system from Chicco: the bases, two carseats and the stroller. I have loved being able to switch them out with just clicking it in the base or the stroller. Weeks LOVES his carseat. It snuggles him in tightly and he sleeps amazing in it! Also- the first 6 weeks I was not supposed to lift over 10 lbs due to my c-section. I used the stroller a lot in the house wheeling him from room to room when he was napping.

So those are our one month favorites. Hard to believe we are now approaching the two month mark. Time really does fly!

We are over at the beach for the weekend and attending a wedding, plus rehearsal party tonight. My parents are in town to watch Weeks and I can't believe we are venturing out! I know we will miss our little man but at the same time it will be nice to ease back into doing things as a couple every once in a while.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend! xo.

Happiness Lately

Here's whats been bringing a smile to my face over the last week...

{My new thrifted ginger jar with lilies from the garden}

{Baby bellies  + Jeans}

{Story time with these two. We are doing our best to develop a nightly routine for Weeks. That is harder than I thought it would be...any tips?}

{A baby becoming more and more active and in tune with his surroundings! We thought this was his Heisman pose.}

{Mommy's morning out for a pedicure on Saturday. Bless.}

{Nightly cuddles.}

Happy Wednesday everyone! xo.

Morning Shopping

How was everyone's weekend? Ours was pretty great. The weather turned chilly just in time for the weekend so it was a great excuse to stay inside and relax. I know once the weather is nice we will be outside 24/7, so it was plenty fine with me to take it easy.

J. Crew is having a 25% off sale {use code SPRINGBEST} and I just happened to have a gift card that has been burning a hole in my purse since Christmas. My morning has consisted of this baby sleeping on my lap and shopping- not much better, right?

I've only wanted this bracelet, for like, ever...

I did try to be somewhat practical. This is the kind of thing I am living in these days and it doesn't hurt to freshen up my casual attire.

I love my Panama hat, and I think I will love this one for summer. Hats are a must these days for sun protection. Check out the tip to trim the brim down to a custom size too, I think I just might.

Are you scooping anything up at the sale?
Happy Monday y'all!

Breakfast Traditions

The very first weekend I found out I was pregnant we shared the exciting news with my parents on a trip home.  After discussing the lifestyle changes that I was already making {coffee, certain cheeses, deli meat, seafood, you name it, etc}, my parents told the story of how my Mom started getting hot tea served to her every single morning. She had morning sickness when she was pregnant, and the only thing that could curb that was a hot cup of tea. My Dad took the task upon himself and is still fixing her a hot cup of tea to this day.

That very next Monday morning, what did I get in bed? A hot cup of tea. One of the sweetest gestures of my entire pregnancy. Stephen just took it upon himself to be my tea maker, and continued to do so throughout my entire pregnancy. I'm still getting hot tea fixed for me too! Sometimes in bed, sometimes running around the house with a baby in one hand and a burp cloth in the other.

I think I mentioned how much I loved donuts in those last few months of my pregnancy. I even had other people craving donuts. {You know who you are!} I mean, lets be real, not much can beat a really good donut. It sort of turned into a tradition for us- every Saturday morning Stephen went to Dunkin Donuts and got us our fix. Chocolate iced was my favorite. {To be clear, the regular donut with chocolate icing, NOT a chocolate donut. Don't make that mistake Dunkin.} I could probably have eaten two or three in one sitting, so it's a good thing I only ordered one.

Fast forward to this morning, what did we have for breakfast?

It's funny how traditions are born. Not saying that we will have donuts every single Saturday morning {I wouldn't mind} but I don't think I will ever eat another donut with out thinking about such a sweet time in my life.

Anniversary/A Day in the Life Recap

Instead of just showing you a few pictures from our anniversary, I thought it would be fun to document what really goes into getting ready for a date night these days. Well, this was our first real date night since baby so call me a novice! For me, it's pretty much impossible to get ready in less than two hours while feeding a hungry baby and keeping him occupied as well. So, I started the process in the morning. Now keep in mind, I did not include every time he ate and napped, but just so you know we are working on about a 2 (or 3, if we are lucky) hour schedule. Also, I should add...I can't feed him or change him with out major cuddles and naps on my chest so wherever you see a gap in time, that is what I was busy doing!

7 AM
We are up for the day. Breakfast consumed quickly and efficiently- lately its been Frosted Mini Wheats in bed. Stephen rushes to get ready and help as I get Weeks fed, changed and happy. I also try to squeeze in the first load of laundry for the day.

9 AM
A five minute shower minus washing my hair. Ain't nobody got time for that today.

9:15 AM
Time for a Tan Towel. I have been using these babies for years. My choice of a self tanner if you are looking for an all over glow. If I just want to add some color to my arms or legs, I go with this. I also usually use the Tan Towel the night before, but I didn't have the energy/motivation to do it the previous night, so day of it was.  Quick decision for lululemon shorts and tennis shoes to wear today.

11 AM
I asked Stephen's Mom to come watch Weeks while I run a few errands. On the list of things to get: an anniversary card, changing pad liners for Weeks, lunch for us, random beauty buys/cheap thrills from the drug store.

12 PM
Since Weeks was born, Stephen has brought us lunch almost every day. I wanted to treat Stephen on our anniversary to a lunch at home so while I was out I grabbed what I needed for Turkey Reubens on the panini press, and potato salad. Weeks takes a nap on the couch when Stephen gets home and gets some Daddy time while I fix lunch.
My turkey reubens: oven roasted turkey, baby swiss cheese on white bread, served with lite thousand island dressing to dip in. Simple and delish. I'm not a fan of rye bread!

1:00 PM
Folding laundry, snuggling with Weeks and taking a few minutes to plop down on the couch.

 2:30-3:30 PM
Time to multitask. First, I took Weeks on a walk for a little exercise and sunshine. Once we got back I brought our neglected dogs outside to enjoy the beautiful weather as well. At the same time, I got to sit in my beach chair, soak up some sun and paint my nails. I painted one hand at a time to ensure the ability to pop a paci in if needed. Essie's Poppy Art Pink was today's choice.

What was my baby doing? Sleeping oh-so-sweetly.

3:30-4:30
Snuggling my baby and picking up things around the house. We go through an unprecedented amount of burp cloths a day here! I also find the wet towel from his bath the night before still sitting in the sink. I swear I used to have a clean house!

4:45 PM
At the last minute, I decide I have to take another shower after being outside plus having used a tan towel. Hopefully, my tan won't wash away but I have to feel clean. Stephen is off work early so he can help watch Weeks while I attempt to get ready in record time.

4:55 PM
Makeup

5:10 PM
Curl my hair

5:30 PM
We are supposed to be leaving and I am just beginning to look for something to wear. Yes Katie, something other than yoga pants tonight.

5:45 PM
Stephen's parents have arrived, Weeks is happily napping and I make sure to grab the last minute makeup fixes for the car ride {again, multitasking!} We are on our way y'all!

6:00 PM
We get the chance to sit down and relax with a glass for his and hers at a local wine bar.

We had never been there before and it was so nice to just sit back and relax for a few minutes with some good music and a laid back atmosphere.

6:45 PM
We ended up calling and moving our reservation back 15 minutes to give us a little more time. We should know that being at least 15 minutes late is the way we roll these days! Stephen has roses waiting on the table when we get there. I love that man.

We have gone to the same restaurant each year to celebrate our anniversaries- there is an unbeatable waterfront view- perfect for watching boats go by and watching the sunset. The food is pretty incredible too!

To end the night, cuddles with this one. Perfection!

As you can see- a long day, but so worth it!
