Our Engagement Photos

Our second anniversary is quickly approaching in April, and I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and share with you a few of our engagement photos to link up to the Ultimate Wedding Week. Here's a little history of our engagement: We got engaged on Stephen's boat {I later read getting engaged while over water is good luck...yay!} in June on the same night as one of the biggest fishing tournaments in North Carolina, the Big Rock. He had dinner planned with both of our families waiting after the boat ride, it was a perfect night. Here's a quick recap of that night!

Heading out on the boat with a drink that my dad strategically made "very weak" so I was sure to not miss any details of the big night! I loved hearing that later!! :)

One of my favorites- Stephen calling his Grandma to tell her the news!

Part of our families that joined us for dinner. I'm so happy they were a part of our night!

We decided to have our engagement photos done at the beach as well, as an extension of our engagement story, and really, what's better than pictures on the beach!? Our photographer made us feel so comfortable and I'm so thankful for that. We had an absolute blast during these photos! I opted to wear white for most of our wedding celebrations- I got engaged in a white dress, wore white in these photos and wore white to our engagement parties and bridesmaids luncheon!

Our photos were taken mid September in the late afternoon and evening to take advantage of the gorgeous fall sunsets.

I wanted these photos to be classic- I went with a white ruffled blouse from Banana Republic and Joes Jeans. Stephen wore the mans staple piece, the Polo shirt.

We also took some photos at Fort Macon which provided an entirely different look than the beach photos. In these I wore a Marc Jacobs eyelet dress that had a lavender lining. Still love that thing!

We had our photos made into a guest book which is what our guests signed at the wedding. I assure you that this is much more fun to go back and look at than a standard list of names- but you could always do both!

These photos make for some of my favorites in our home!

Hope you enjoyed a little peak into our engagement, it was truly one of the best times of my life and I'm happy to share it today! xoxo.

Such beautiful pictures! I also made a book with our engagement pictures to use as a guestbook for the same reason - I don't want a book with a bunch of people's names and addresses.

How lovely! Engagement photos are a wonderful idea, they capture a moment and feeling that you can't re-create (8 year married lady talking, haha). Professional photos aren't something that people get done here, but I think its a great idea.
