Ikea Hunting

Big news, y'all, big news. I get to visit Ikea this weekend! We are stopping in Charlotte for one night only and the plan is to do a little shopping with my sister {mostly with the babes in mind}. Focus, Katie. I have only been once and I was like a kid in a candy store. Stephen was literally scared. So, tell me your favorite finds, navigation tips {?!?} and anything else I must know. One thing I would like to purchase is white frames but I want to know exactly which style to buy.

Thank you in advance for your help on my shopping adventure!
xoxo.

I find that Ikea can be SUPER overwhelming for me, and if I don't go with specific things in mind I can leave with a cart full of stuff that I don't need. So if I know I am going to Ikea I will cruise the website beforehand and make a list of things that I know for sure that I want to check out while I'm there. Also, bring your own shopping bags so you don't have to buy that crappy Ikea ones - have fun!

Use your iphone camera/ camera to take pictures while you shop, that way you buy what you need and you are not scatterbrained when you pick these items out. Take a pictures of inspiration rooms, the tags of the items you want, etc. It will help you centralize your thoughts and not buy everything!

And yes, Bring your own reusable bags to shop with!

The Ribba frames are my favorite, there is so much to love I wouldn't know where to start! Good luck with the crazy carts! :)

Ikea can definitely be overwhelming! Sometimes it's helpful to browse their website ahead of time that way if you see something you like, you can keep an eye out for it. I have some great furniture from there but also great odds and ends (bamboo plants with rocks and vase for super cheap!). Have fun!!

Not related to decorating but they have great plastic cup, plate and bowl sets for toddlers. Worth picking them up now! They also have fun toys, etc for when they get bigger.

Too much fun! Our Ikea will be opening next month, so excited. I have blogged about some of the items I would like. I can't wait to see what you get! Also I'm sure you have something very excited planned for your nursery!

AHH baby shopping SO SO exciting. my advice is to not buy any BIG items there. I've had a dresser and table fall apart/ not come with all their pieces. But you're usually safe with smaller pieces/rugs/decorative things!
