Christmas Mantel 2012

I kept things fairly simple this year on the mantel and I am absolutely loving it. No need to over think. I literally put this together in minutes.

The books and the antlers were already in place from my fall mantel. You can see that here. You can also see the major difference our new paint color has made in the room!

I wanted to do something other than hang these pine cones and glittery ornaments, so I scattered them around the mantel. Simple and pretty, I like.

My paperwhites are blooming and I love the scent in the living room. I used a little chalkboard paint on this vase to dress it up.

As you can see, these are paperwhites gone wild. I staked them with skewers for the time being to help stand them up. If you missed my tutorial on paperwhites, see here.

I made the green and white stockings on a whim last year. Next year we might just splurge and get all coordinating...we will have another to add to the row!

Here's the view with our tree...

The tree is all done with the exception of a tree skirt!

Am I the only one keeping things simple this year? I know I will probably go all out next year with a little boy to help me! With the nursery and Christmas presents on the mind I didn't want to spend much on decorations this year and I am so happy with that decision. I didn't plan on creating something I loved so much but this might be my favorite year yet!

Today I am linking my mantel to Ten June, where you can find more glammed up holiday mantels:

xoxo.

Holy smokes, I've never seen paperwhites that tall! Maybe I've been living under a rock or maybe yours are the exception?! Mine are still growing...no blooms yet. Simplicity is always a good thing. Your mantle looks great.

Aw, the paper whites are so, so pretty! I've never had any in my house, but I think it's about time I get some! Love your flocked tree, by the way. Looking gorgeous and Christmasy in there, that's for sure! : )
