Our Summer Porch

Welcome to our summer porch!

Ahem. I realize we are now approaching fall.

Stephen and I treated ourselves to a new swing and table set for our Anniversary this year. I bought this set locally, but I know they are available in tons of outdoor furniture shops. I wanted a set that didn't require a custom cushion like many of the thick cushions you see at Home Depot, Lowes etc. Since we live at the coast, our cushions may only last one season and those bad boys are way too expensive to replace/recover! These are a box edge set in canvas white. I'm hoping I can squeeze a few seasons out of them. Since these are white, I can always switch up pillows and mix it up for fall!

-the potting bench-
Updated with a starburst mirror and foxtail fern.
I have loved using this to cut flowers all summer!
It's perfect for bringing in vegetables too.
I would like to add some blue and white planters to this scene in the future- but I'm waiting for a good deal.

This is actually a "bistro set" which I like because the chairs are comfortable enough for just hanging around, relaxing with out having to feel like you are sitting in a seat made for a table. But when we do want to eat outside- which we have done many times- it is nice to have the table for two! The table looks smaller in the picture than it really is, we can comfortably fit dinner for two {plus Weeks in the future!} here. I bought the rug last year on Overstock.com. Pillows are all Surya.

This is a mix of a charger {Tuesday Morning}, our everyday dishes {Vietri} and a melamine plate from Target. I think it is the perfect mix for outdoors! For this I just wrapped two paper napkins in each napkin ring- paper is realistic for outdoors, am I right?

-Outdoor String Globe Lights-
Our newest improvement!
We love the lights- Stephen hung them with a simple eye hook.

Come sit a while- and have a glass of chardonnay with me too!

Friday Finds: 7.26.13

Subway Tile!
Thank you all so much for sharing in my excitement for our kitchen upgrades. The tile is installed and I am l-o-v-i-n-g it. Can't wait to show you more- but here is a sneak peak! This is our Boon Drying mat- essential for baby bottles in this house. It's pretty cute too!

My Sugar
This little boy is growing SO fast! While I was trying to squeeze him in his 3-6 clothes for one last go around, I think I missed out on the time frame for him to wear his 6-9 clothes. I am serious. He barely fits in them! We are jumping straight to 9 month clothing. He was in the 80th percentile for height at his last checkup, if that gives you any idea. Love his sweet face. Can't get enough. He even is starting to show some curls on that head. ohmygoodness.

I just happened to pick up a bottle of Blood Orange Soda at the grocery store yesterday because I liked the bottle. Then, I see this recipe on pinterest. It sounds so refreshing and I think its happening on Sunday afternoon!

And I am linking up with the fabulous ladies of Five on Friday!

That's all I have for today y'all- hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Anniversary Sale Picks!

Having a weak moment over here. I decided to browse the anniversary sale along with the rest of the world. Tons of good stuff y'all! Right now I am looking for great deals on summer-to-fall items, along with staples for my fall wardrobe. In addition to my handbag obsession, I also have a thing for pretty shoes. Must be the leather? Don't forget to check the robe out. I am a total robe hoarder, I almost could live in one. And a really cute work out top for when the temps cool down. Anyway. Here are my picks! What did you get? What did I miss?

Happy Shopping!

My Subway Tile Obsession

I think any tile adds so much to a space, but there is something so clean and chic about subway tile that I love. Here are some of my favorite spaces- mostly kitchens- with my beloved tile. If you follow me on pinterest you might have noticed I've been pinning away on kitchens. Well, EXCITING news y'all...we are getting subways installed in our house this week, courtesy of Stephen's brother. I can't wait to share!

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

In addition to the tile, we are working on a few other upgrades. I'm so pumped!
Have a great Monday!
