I've had a day full of relaxation and now switching over to celebration mode.
It has been such a wonderful day so far and I feel so blessed!
Hope you are having a fabulous day! xo
{don't worry Mom, I really won't be dancing on the table!}

Pop the Champagne Darling!

My birthday is tomorrow and I cannot believe the month of November has flown by (oh, and the fact that I am a year older!) It has been unseasonably warm here for weeks, and it figures today it would cool off and rain! I really hope we have another beautiful sunny day tomorrow, I just don't do well in the rain! So...the weather got me thinking, how fabulous would a little party full of pink, peonies and champagne be for a break right here in the middle of the holiday season!?

Weekend Recap

Good Morning all!  Here is a little recap of our weekend that I promised, it was one of the best Thanksgiving weekends I can remember.

We started off Thursday morning with Stephen's family at his Grandmother's home. We had a little extra time so we took some pictures for our Christmas card. This one was not what we chose (can't reveal that just yet!) but it was a close call. Keeping the dogs entertained was hard, I can't imagine what it will be like one day with kiddos in the picture!

His grandmother still has a "working farm" and these are some of the cows that we went to feed after lunch. They had to eat Thanksgiving too!

Every year the guys in my family take this photo.
They drop the turkey in the fryer and have a "boot" of beer. Ever seen one before?

The place setting at the table- Mom is so talented! I love the blue and white.

I made the sweet potato casserole and it was a hit. It was a new recipe but I think its a keeper.

Early birthday celebration for me at a fabulous restaurant, Mez!

Tailgating bright and early Saturday morning with my sister!

Every game the band comes by our tailgate and this guy on the end follows them and pretends he is part of the band-it's hilarious!

This is part of our group with a local celeb- David Thompson (center)- who was a famous basketball player for NC State years ago. We lured him to our tailgate with the fabulous wings that my brother and Stephen made.

That's it for now! Is anyone else struggling with the post holiday slump like I am this morning?! I am hoping the coffee kicks in and I don't drag all the way through Monday. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well! xoxo

Back from Thanksgiving!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you enjoyed a lengthy, fun, family filled weekend for Thanksgiving as I did myself. Such a reminder of all the things I have to be thankful for. Ours was jam packed from Turkey to shopping to an NCSU football game to early birthday celebrations for myself! It was such a fun, long weekend! We just got back in town and I am switching gears to finish up my Christmas decorating...hopefully I will finish in the next day or so! I will be posting my Thanksgiving break recap photos soon. Until then, here's some pinterest inspiration I had today to put me in the mood to decorate!

Tiny Prints

Today I got the email that I had been waiting for. The Tiny Prints Christmas Card Sale arrived in my inbox and I am pumped! My friend Ashley introduced me to this company with her ever-so-cute cards a couple of years ago and I was hooked. This was our card last year, and I still love it a year later!

From now until Friday at midnight, Tiny Prints is offering 20% off when your order $75+ and 25% off when you order $175+ and free shipping! I fell in love so many of these cards and was so pleased with the quality. They are unique- I loved that you could customize the front, inside and even the back.
Ours folded with a message on the inside, and I thought having a small photo on the back was so cute! (It looks teeny tiny here.)

Here are some of my favorites for this year...

I think mulling over the annual Christmas Card is a great little activity to work on in between making sweet potato casserole and eating my way into the night! It's a perfect time to cross that off my list!
What do you plan on doing during a turkey break tomorrow?

Thinking about our Christmas card is also a reminder of all of the blessings I have been given and I am so thankful. Hope you all have a wonderful, safe, love-filled, delicious and fun
Thanksgiving with the ones you love! xoxo

Christmas Cheer

This is my new Rosemary Bush that my Mom brought me this weekend. Is it not adorable? She found it at Whole Foods in Raleigh, and it also came with a recipe book for cooking with Rosemary. Don't you think it makes a wonderful gift for a hostess or friend? I'm obsessed with it! It smells amazing and is just too cute in the little brown paper base.

Here's a teeny tiny sneak peek of my Christmas tree!
And, my chardonnay that I enjoyed while decorating.

And some glitzy little ornaments.

On another note, have you seen the J.Crew baby collection? For all the mommas to be, it is adorable and very affordable (for J.Crew!) I don't need these in my life yet, but they were too cute not to share!

{j.crew}

Are you in the mood to decorate yet for Christmas? I decided I needed to get started before we leave for Thanksgiving. It will be fun to return to a cheerful and holiday decorated home! Hope you are having a great Monday! xoxo

Denim and Diamonds

Friday night we attended a local charity event, Denim and Diamonds, that benefits the Boys and Girls Club in our area. This event is fabulous- all of the finest food from local restaurants, open bar, a huge variety of raffle items and every year the Band of Oz plays.

Greenery and crystal branches were the table centerpieces. Little LED lights filled the vases for a fun touch. I think I will incorporate some LED lights into our decor for our Christmas party!

One of the best parts about this party- the attire!
Wear your favorite jeans {denim} and throw on some sequins or jewels {diamonds}! Did I mention every year there is a piece of diamond jewelry given away with the raffle? Amazing diamond Slane and Slane jewelry was given away this year. Sadly, I did not take that beauty home with me!

My Mom and Dad love to come to this event. We have the best time!

They decorate the civic center with lights and a tent in the middle of the room.
Underneath the tent is the designated tables for the event sponsors.

The Band of Oz played at our rehearsal dinner so we make it a point to see them anytime they play in our area. They put on a great show with the best beach music and we always end up on the front row enjoying the show. That is us below on the far right.

I have been doing some Christmas decorating this afternoon! Sneak peek tomorrow.
Hope you had a lovely weekend! xoxo

Obsession: Winter White

There is something so appealing about winter white paired with metallic accents. I love the translation of this from festive holiday decor to fashionable style to pretty little cocktails! A little touch of sparkle always gives you and your home a glow and I am all for that! I will definately be incorporating this theme into my wardrobe and home over the holidays.
What color is making you happy this fall and winter?
